Jaxon Evans teams up with Fraser Ross for the Australian Endurance Championship

Super excited to be heading back to Phillip Island for this weekends Australian GT Endurance event, teaming up with Fraser Ross in the Opticoat/Total McLaren 650s.

It’s been a long couple of months since I’ve been behind the wheel of a race car but feeling well refreshed and ready to get back into some endurance racing.

Looking back 12 months, at this very same event – Tim Miles and I won the race - ultimately starting our charge as title contenders in the Australian Endurance Championship. Although many things are different, I head there with some confidence and aim to run at the pointy end of the highly competitive field.

Fraser currently sits 2nd in the Championship after a great start to the year, so the pressure is on to keep the good results happening. I always look forward to these races, a big field of an amazing machinery and top class pro-drivers – what more could you ask for.

Having not driven the McLaren since the Bathurst 12 hour earlier this year, I’m hopeful that the re-adjustment won’t take took long with the assistance of both Fraser and our engineer Campbell Little.

On Track action begins on Friday followed by practice and qualifying on Saturday, with the 101-lap race on Sunday afternoon! The weather forecast isn’t looking too bad at the moment, but like I always say – its Phillip Island, it can change in a matter of minutes!

You can keep up to date with my progress and results across all my social media outlets. Sundays race will be lived streamed on the Shannon’s Nationals website – make sure you keep an eye out for the #59 McLaren!
