Zero Emissions Vehicle Subsidy for Victorians

The Zero Emissions Vehicle Subsidy has been created for Victorian individuals and businesses in an effort to support and drive the future of transport by purchasing an electric vehicle.

As part of the $100 million roadmap package $46 million is dedicated to helping Victorians purchase more than 20,000 ZEVs.

The first stage of the subsidy includes 4000 subsidies valued at $3,000 for eligible new ZEVs purchased on or after 2 May 2021. There are over 20,000 subsidies available under the program and will be offered until the subsidies are fully committed, or for three years, whichever occurs first.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the subsidy you need to be a Victorian resident or have a business with a registered office in Victoria.

As of now, the subsidy is available to Victorians for one vehicle purchase and to businesses for the purchase of up to two vehicles. It is subject to availability and can only be applied:
