Victorian COVID-19 Restrictions Eased


As of 11:59pm Tonight, Victoria’s fifth lockdown will end, although many strict restrictions will remain.

Schools will reopen, as will hospitality, retail, gyms and beauty services although strict patron caps will be in place.

Workers will be able to return to the office, at a maximum of 25 per cent of capacity or 10 people, whichever is greater.

Public gatherings of groups of 10 are permitted and community sport can resume.

Although there will be no crowds at large events, including at the footy, for at least two weeks. And masks will remain for both indoors and outdoors and are expected to be in place for quite some time.

A Summary of restrictions from Wednesday

Travel limit: Removed

Visitors to the home: Not permitted

Masks: Still mandatory indoors and outdoors

Schools: Open for all students

Hospitality: Seated service only, one person per 4 sqm patron cap. Max patron cap of 100 people per venue and group limits of 10 people

Public outdoor gatherings: 10 people

Retail: Open, with one person per 4 sqm

Gyms, hairdressers and beauty: Open, with one person per 4 sqm

Workplaces: Open, with a 25 per cent capacity or 10 people, whichever is greater

Accommodation: Open to single households, intimate partners or single bubbles

Weddings and Funerals: 50 person cap
