The race for the prestigious title of the season’s best goal kicker has never been so enticing.

Morris Finance Sponsored Cat, Tom Hawkins is set to crown a remarkable season by claiming his first Coleman Medal when the home and away season finishes after tonight’s Collingwood vs Port Adelaide match.
In what can only be described as a turbulent year of football, Tom Hawkins has had a sensational season. The 273-game veteran is one of the most decorated and experienced Cats on the 2020 list.
Albeit being the Cat’s season leading goal-kicker eight times, Tom has never claimed the league’s top honour, the Coleman Medal. Although this is likely to be set to change as of tonight, he is currently sitting on top of the leader board, 11 goals clear of Jack Gunston, Josh Kennedy and Charlie Dixon.

Tom has been held goalless only twice – by Hawthorn and Collingwood – and produced one of his finest performances by a forward in recent memory when he booted six goals and had 10 marks against Port Adelaide. He was on-song from the opening quarter and was too big, too strong, and too skilled for and undersized Port Adelaide defence.
Although being out of contract at the end of the 2020 season, Tom has declared that he will not be retiring at the end of this year claiming he has “got a lot of football left in me” with an eye to hopefully playing in 2022.
Morris Finance value Tom highly as he is an integral leader amongst the Cats on-field and amongst the community off the field. A country boy at heart, Hawkins attributes his success quite simply to a love of the game and the sense of community it fosters. When he’s not kicking goals, he’s out in the local community supporting and encouraging youngsters to get active and to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The Cats star key forward has dominated the entire year and we wish him the best of luck in taking out the 2020 Coleman medal.
