How long have you been with Morris?
9 years this month.
Favourite part of your role?
Assisting brokers get deals over the line that they may not have before. At Morris, we do things differently to the mainstream funders which allows us to be flexible by applying a common sense approach to get deals over the line.
Interests outside of work?
Family, friends, food and a range of sports from NFL, AFL, and Soccer.
If you could recommend one thing to brokers when submitting an application with Morris Finance, what would it be?
Take the extra few minutes to complete the submission cover sheet properly. At Morris, we want to know the story behind what they do and how they do it, to the reasons why they have had issues in the past and how they have overcome them. Having been with Morris for 9 years and having a credit background, I have witnessed first-hand that the brokers who put that time and effort in at the start have a better success rate with getting deals approved.
What does your normal workday look like?
A normal workday revolves around my phone. Something I pride myself on is responding and being readily available to brokers when they need me.
Case Study
An experienced truck driver working PAYG for a local transport company was approached by his boss with an opportunity to increase his income by becoming a sub-contractor driver. The client was keen to take up the opportunity as he saw this as a steppingstone to building his own business.
Considering his industry experience and proof of good working capital, Morris was able to help him obtain finance on a used truck to get the business underway. Since the initial application, the client has now approached the broker again and is looking to add a second vehicle to his operations.
