Hear from Brand Ambassador Nick Percat as the V8 Supercars Championship heads to the Beaurepaires Sydney Supersprint this weekend.  

Hi everyone!

We’re halfway through our four-week stint at Sydney Motorsport Park, and this weekend we take on the BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint. It’s a two-day race meeting with condensed practice, qualifying and three 32-lap races.

It’s been an awesome two weeks of racing so far. The#8 R&J Batteries Commodore has been working very well in all the conditions that have been thrown at us. Day or night, rain, hail or shine; I’ve been tracking consistently around the top five.

In last Saturday night’s race I had a great battle with Will Davison for the final podium position. I also came close to another podium in Sunday’s race that was red-flagged and stopped early. This weekend I want to try and go at least one better and bring home another trophy for BJR.  

I’m currently sitting fourth in the Sydney Cup leader board, so it would be nice to have a strong weekend and jump up the ladder a spot or two.

We are back to racing during the day and the tyre format is soft tyres only. As I mentioned, the condensed two-day format makes it a really busy weekend for us and will definitely keep the team on its toes!

In between events I’ve really been enjoying my time in Sydney. It’s awesome having Nelson with me, he’s loving the Sydney dog parks and beaches!
