Nick Percat AGP Preview 

Hey everyone,

Aust GP week! Hard to believe it’s been 2 years since being here. What a few years it has been, and I think it’s amazing to see the support the event has this year with tickets being sold out Saturday and Sunday

I personally can not wait to get on the new Albert Park layout. Its very fast and flowing and designed to create more passing for Formula 1. I am not 100% sure it will help us for passing opportunities, but we will see. The new turn 13 has been designed in a way to create passing, its very wide on the entry and a tighter radius so we need to stop the car more. I would expect this to be a fairly action-packed area on the circuit during the races

The team has been working extremely hard to get on top of our struggles from Tasmania. I have been busy in the workshop with the engineers working on our plan for this weekend with setup and how we tackle the track. Not only is it a brand-new layout with new corners and profiling its also a new track surface. So, all our setups from previous visits to Albert Park mean minimal now.

The format for the weekend should spice the racing up. We only get X2 practice sessions before rolling straight into Qualifying 1 and 2 on Thursday afternoon. We also have hard and soft tyres across the 4 races. Qualifying this weekend will be more important than ever.

For those that are attending this weekend, feel free to come over and visit the WAU garage and hopefully we can put on a good performance, AGP is a happy hunting ground for myself. Since Formula ford, Porsche Cup car and Supercars I have always found myself on the podium. So, fingers crossed for this weekend!
