Morris continues National Partnership with Foodbank Australia, Supporting the Surplus with Purpose Program.

Morris is proud to reaffirm its long standing commitment to addressing food insecurity by continuing its National Partnership with Foodbank Australia, a collaboration that commenced in 2018. Over the past several years, the partnership has played a meaningful role in supporting vulnerable communities across the country, helping ensure more Australians have access to nutritious food when they need it most. For the last 8 years, Morris’ contribution has translated into providing over half a million meals, making a tangible difference in communities across the country.
As part of the renewed partnership, funds donated by Morris will now directly support Foodbank Australia’s Surplus with Purpose pogram. With Australia creating approximately 7.6 million tonnes of food waste each year, equivelant to filling the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) nine times, Foodbank is working to rescue this surplus food and feed vulnerable individuals and communities experiencing hardship. Our contribution will go towards funding the transportation that collects the surplus food that would otherwise be discarded. By connecting surplus supply with genuine community need, the program not only helps reduce hunger but also contributes to a more responsible and far more sustainable food system.
Morris’ support of Foodbank Australia has gone beyond finacial contributuions. Over the years, Morris has also been actively involved in initiatives such as the Breakfast in Schools program, ensuring children start the day with a nutritious meal, and the Skybus Mobile Supermarket, helping families and communities in need have access to healthy food. Staff will continue to volunteer in the Foodbank warehouse throughout the year, packing food and essential items ready for distribution across the country.
Since its inception, the partnership has enabled Foodbank Australia to strengthen its food relief efforts, supporting charities, community groups and schools nationwide. This continued support ensures these vital services can keep pace with the growing demands, particularly as cost-of-living pressures continue to affect households across Australia.

Tiffany Hunt, General Manager Marketing & Communications commented:
“At Morris, we believe meaningful partnerships are those that deliver real, lasting impact for the communities we serve. Our continued support of Foodbank Australia and the Surplus with Purpose program reflects our long-standing commitment to helping address food insecurity while also contributing to more sustainable food systems.
We’re proud to stand alongside Foodbank in ensuring surplus food is redirected to Australians who need it most, creating positive social and environmental outcomes and helping build a more food-secure future.”
A quote from Brendon Smyth, General Manager – National Partnerships:
“Morris have been proud supporters of Foodbank Australia since 2019, well before COVID changed the world. Their consistent support gives Foodbank the confidence to plan ahead, knowing Morris stands firmly behind our work.Over the past year, Morris’ funding has again strengthened our program, helping unlock food at the very start of the supply chain. As efficiencies across the food sector increase, sourcing fresh produce closer to the farm gate is more critical than ever.
Beyond funding, Morris team members continue to roll up their sleeves, volunteering across our warehouses and distribution network. This hands-on commitment makes a real difference for Australians doing it tough, at a time of unprecedented economic uncertainty. We thank Morris for their leadership and continued, whole-of-business support. We simply couldn’t do what we do without you.”
Through our ongoing collaboration with Foodbank, Morris continues to demonstrate how purposeful partnerships can make a meaningful difference in ensuring food is put to good use, and the communitites facing hardship have access to essential groceries, building a more food secure future for all Australians.
