On Thursday, 13 November, the Morris team headed to Food Bank Victoria’s Brooklyn distribution centre for a meaningful volunteering day supporting food-insecure families and school communities across the state.

The day formed part of Morris’ long-standing partnership with Food Bank Australia and added to the organisation’s ongoing commitment to donating 60,000 meals this year alone to help Australians doing it tough.
Food Bank Victoria welcomed the team with warm thanks and for good reason. Together, the Morris volunteers packed more than 9,718 kilograms of food, the equivalent of 27,884 meals. These supplies play a critical role in one of Food Bank’s most impactful initiatives: the Breakfast-in-Schools Program, which ensures children across Victoria have access to nutritious food to start their day.
The Breakfast-in-Schools Program has become a cornerstone of Food Bank’s mission. Every week, Foodbank delivers breakfast hampers to more than 2,000 schools across Victoria, reaching students who might otherwise arrive at school hungry. The program not only helps children start the morning with the energy they need but also improves concentration, participation, and overall wellbeing in the classroom.
Throughout the volunteering day, the Morris team sorted, organised, and packed a wide variety of donated items including cereals, long-life milk, spreads, fruit cups, popcorn, fresh fruit and other essential items that make up the breakfast hampers sent to schools. Each hamper supports teachers, wellbeing staff and school communities who rely on Food Bank’s deliveries to ensure students are fed, supported and ready to learn.

Claudine Habib from Foodbank Australia shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying:
“What we appreciate most about Morris is their genuine commitment. Their financial support helps us provide essential food and groceries to people doing it tough, but seeing their team volunteer with such care and enthusiasm is what truly stands out. That combination of giving and showing up means everything.”
A Message from Morris – General Manager of Marketing, Tiffany Hunt
“As the need for food relief continues to rise, Food Bank’s work has never been more vital. Taking part in the volunteering day allowed our team to directly support the Breakfast-in-Schools Program and the many families who rely on Foodbank each week. I’m proud of our team for contributing their time and energy to help ensure Victorian children and families have access to the meals they deserve.”
The volunteering day reinforced Morris’ ongoing commitment to helping Australians facing food insecurity. Combined with the company’s pledge to donate 60,000 meals this year, the effort highlights Morris’ dedication to supporting families and strengthening community wellbeing.
Foodbank Australia continues to work tirelessly across the country to ensure individuals and families can put a meal on the table, not just on Christmas Day, but for as long as it takes to help them get back on their feet. Programs like the Breakfast-in-Schools initiative rely heavily on community support, and volunteering efforts, such as those from the Morris team, play a vital role in helping Food Bank meet the growing demand for food relief.
