Morris Finance Brand Ambassador’s hitting the virtual tracks

Morris Finance Brand Ambassador’s Nick Percat and Jaxon Evans will be taking the track in upcoming sim racing competitions.

Percat will be competing in the V8 Supercars All Stars E-Series in his Brad Jones Racing colours and lining up against the full cast of Supercars stars.

Percat is also using this period of down time to document his day to day movements, allowing fans to go behind the scenes and get to know him better. You can find the videos on his social media channels and on the Supercars and Speedcafe websites.

Porsche have also established a similar competition in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition which kicked off on April 4 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

“Virtual motor racing, or so-called “sim racing”, is becoming more and more popular, on a professional level as well. This is underlined by the great success of Porsche’s general esport activities. Until the postponed start of our real season, we’ve created a tremendous platform with the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition for our teams and drivers,” explains Oliver Schwab, Manager of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

Evans, the Porsche Junior, is lining up for the virtual challenge alongside teammate Ayhancan Güven.

A total of 31 drivers took up the virtual event in their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racers on Saturday. Joining the registered drivers for the real Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on the grid were Porsche works drivers and well-known professional pilots.

Evans finished the first race in 4th position as both races were packed with thrills and spills. Many overtaking manoeuvres led to accidents that resulted in a high number of retirements.

Also running off the iRacing simulation portal, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition is broadcasting worldwide across the internet on YouTube and Twitch video platforms.

In addition to the Porsche competition, Evans is also taking part in the ARG eSport Cup in his Morris Finance branded TCR car. This competition is exclusive to race drivers from the carsales TCR Australia Series, VHT Australian S5000 Championship, National Trans Am Series, Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Cars and the Gulf Western Oils Touring Car Masters, plus other selected special guests. Tim Brook is also on the track in the Morris Finance colours for the eSport Cup.
