Morris Announces the Retirement of Chief Operating Officer, Martin Carter

Morris today announced the retirement of its Chief Operations Officer, Martin Carter, marking the conclusion of a distinguished 12-year tenure with the business.

Martin joined Morris in January 2014 from the corporate sector, stepping into the organisation at a time when the business was seeking to evolve, strengthen its operational capability, and position itself for long-term growth. His arrival coincided with a pivotal stage in Morris’ development, as the business expanded its national footprint and deepened strategic relationships across the finance ecosystem.

Over the past decade, Martin has led key operational functions and played a central role in shaping the engine room of the business. His remit included oversight of relationships with our banking partners, audit and assurance providers, investors, brokers, and community stakeholders. Through his steady leadership, Morris has enhanced its governance frameworks, uplifted operational performance, and continued to build a platform for sustainable growth.

“Martin’s contribution to Morris cannot be overstated,” said Chief Executive Nathan Murray. “He has been a trusted leader, a valued colleague, and a driving force behind our operational evolution. His legacy will continue to underpin our next phase of growth.”

As he transitions into retirement, Martin is looking forward to spending time with his two granddaughters and settling into his new home in Newport, Melbourne, and continuing his responsibilities as President of the Werribee Football Club, he remains a much-loved figure within the Morris family.
