Morris, together with long-term partners Walkinshaw Andretti United, recently teamed up with Foodbank Victoria in their mobile supermarket as part of a new initiative to support households struggling to put food on their table.
As a part of the initiative, WAU’s V8 Supercar drivers Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat joined Morris staff members in assisting the community in accessing healthy and nutritious food at Manor Lakes College on Wednesday, 12th April.
The 18-metre mobile supermarket bus supplied by Kinetic is designed to offer a miniature supermarket experience, with entry at the back and exit at the front, the vehicle has purpose-built shelving and refrigeration stocked with a range of fresh produce, pantry, and staple items.
This concept allows Foodbank to visit people who often don’t have the capacity to travel or who aren’t receiving food relief in the traditional ways. It also allows them to provide a genuinely bespoke food relief service to Melbourne’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
With the cost-of-living pressures on individuals and families having spiked dramatically, the mobile supermarket has the ability to feed up to 200 families at a time with 2,000kgs of food.
It’s also alarming to note that provisions of food relief are supplied to over 100,000 people in Victoria every two days, and households with children are one and a half times more likely to experience severe food insecurity.

Foodbank Australia – CEO, Brianna Casey
“We are so fortunate to have wonderful partners like Morris who not only provide support in funds, which allows us to ensure we continue to meet the rising demand of food relief, but their enthusiasm on the ground is infectious.
We know when the team at Morris volunteers, they’ll get in and get the job done with a smile on their faces. Thanks to the entire team at Morris for your ongoing support, we couldn’t do what we do without partners like you.”
Morris – General Manager of Marketing, Tiffany Hunt
“As a team, we have long been committed to Foodbank’s food relief efforts through corporate donations, fundraising, and volunteering days, and this initiative is an evolution and expansion of our volunteering program.
This is all about supporting Victorians who are doing it tough and don’t know how they will find the next meal for their families or themselves.”
Foodbank Australia is working hard right across the country to ensure families and individuals can put a meal on the table through their network of 2,625 charities and will continue to do so for as long as it takes to get them back on their feet.
You too can make a difference by donating to Foodbank, every $1 you donate provides two meals for Australians in need.
