Jaxon is aiming for his fourth straight Carrera Cup round victory this weekend at the Phillip Island 500, having won the last round in 2017 on the Gold Coast and first two rounds of 2018 at Adelaide and Albert Park. The last driver to win four rounds in a row in Carrera Cup was Craig Baird in 2008 and he won at Barbagallo, Sandown, Queensland Raceway and Phillip Island.

I’m pumped and ready to get down to Phillip island for Round 3 of the Carrera Cup Australia Championship. After the near perfect start to the year we have had, I’m hoping to build on that momentum and bank another great result.
 
The competition has definitely lifted a level and will no doubt do the same this weekend, most teams made use of a test day two weeks ago, something that we were also fortunate enough to participate in. Hopefully something we can put to good use!
 
Last year’s round at Phillip Island was a little different to what we will see this year. Instead of sharing the car with an amateur driver in the two x 50 minute races, we will tackle these as solo drivers, making them the longest single driver races in the championship’s history.
 
I’m really looking forward to the challenges that arise this weekend, this is the first track we have been to this year that everyone has previously raced at. Our goal hasn’t changed, we head there as championship leaders and I will be doing everything I can, to leave in a similar position.
 
Phillip Island is really suited to our Porsche 991.2 Cup Car, it’s a fast, flowing and open circuit that rewards a different type of commit. It is expected in the new generation cars (991.2), will lap at similar speed to the V8 Supercars.
 
The weather conditions are looking good at the moment – but we all know that it doesn’t take long for the weather to turn upside down in Victoria.
