Morris Finance were announced as the 2014 Family Business of the Year winner last night at the 29th Annual Geelong Business Excellence Awards presentation night, an award which was only made possible through the dream and persistence of Ian and Nathan Murray in beginning this wonderful journey some 16 years ago.

The Awards are the oldest continuously running and most prestigious business awards programs in Australia, and, as such, provide a significant recognition and celebration of business achievement and performance. Established in 1986, the Geelong Business Excellence Awards recognise organisations that have achieved business excellence in the Geelong region.

The Morris Finance senior management team attended the presentation night along with a 450-strong crowd, including many dignitaries and our local mayor Darren Lyons.
This year saw a 32% increase in submissions with in excess of 65 entrants and some 22 awards up for grabs, with Morris Finance humbled and proud to accept the coveted award in what was our inaugural submission, after many years of encouragement by clients, suppliers, introducers and local contacts.

Upon announcement and acceptance of the award Nathan Murray (Managing Director) commented that the business had come a long way and the family values and principles we hold near and dear to our heart have and will continue to stand us in good stead for sustainable growth and success in our city and beyond, with our people and clients being the secret to our success.

The challenge is for Morris Finance to continuously improve on everything we do in an endeavour to go back to back with further local acknowledgement in 2015 and beyond.
