Fuel Tax Credits

Fuel Tax Credits provide businesses who have purchased fuel for their business with a credit for the tax that is included in the price of fuel.

Overview

Fuel tax credits provides a credit for the fuel tax (such as excise or customs duty) that is included in the price of fuel.

This includes fuel used in business activities such as:

  • machinery
  • plant
  • equipment
  • heavy vehicles
  • light vehicles travelling off public roads or on private roads

Tax credits are available based on:

  • the fuel tax credit rate when you bought the fuel
  • the business activities you are using the fuel for

Business Energy Advice Program

The Business Energy Advice Program (BEAP) delivers advice to help small businesses and their representatives get better energy deals and reduce their energy usage.

What do you get?

A free personalised energy consultation and access to a Small Business Energy Check tool.

Who is this for?

An Australian business with 6 to 20 employees. Or if you've been adversely affected by drought, your business can have between 0 and 20 employees.

Overview

Through the program you can get a Business Energy Advice consultation. This is a personalised service delivered by Business Australia and funded by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.

With this service you will:

  • understand your energy saving opportunities
  • choose the best energy plan for your business
  • receive tailored advice on energy efficiency opportunities best suited to your industry

Energy Upgrades (Victoria)

Victorian Energy Upgrades provide businesses with discounts on a wide range of energy-saving products and services when accessed through accredited providers.

Discounts vary depending on the products purchased.

Who is this for?

Victorian businesses.

Overview

Victorian Energy Upgrades provide businesses with discounts on purchasing and installing approved energy-efficient products when supplied by an accredited provider.

The discounts apply to a number of products, including but not limited to:

  • lighting
  • gas efficiency
  • hot water systems
  • heating and cooling
  • refrigeration and ventilation fans
  • shower heads
  • motors
  • fridges and freezers
  • glazing

The discounts available vary depending on the product purchased and installed.

Advancing Renewables Program

The Advancing Renewables Program provides businesses with funding or finance to develop renewable energy technologies.

Matched funding of between $100,000 and $50 million.

Who is this for?

Businesses wanting to undertake renewable energy projects.

Overview

This program aims to fund projects that contribute to one or more of the following outcomes:

  • reduction in the cost of renewable energy
  • increase in the value delivered by renewable energy
  • improvement in technology readiness and commercial readiness of renewable energy
  • reduction in or removal of barriers to renewable energy uptake
  • increase in skills, capacity and knowledge relevant to renewable energy
