JobMaker Hiring Credit
Employers may be eligible to receive payments under the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme if they hire new employees.
If you and your new employees meet the eligibility criteria, you may be eligible to claim hiring credit payments for 12 months for each new job filled.
You may be eligible for the below payments:
- up to $200 a week – for each eligible employee aged 16 to 29 years old
- up to $100 a week – for each eligible employee aged 30 to 35 years old
Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements
This wage subsidy program supports employers of any size to take on new apprentices or trainees.
Businesses that engage an Australian Apprentice between the 5th of October 2020 and the 31st of March 2022 may be eligible for a subsidy of 50% of the apprentices’ gross wages. The subsidy is for a maximum of $7,000 per quarter, per eligible apprentice, for wages paid in the 12-month period from the date they start.
To be eligible, the apprentice or trainee will need to be undertaking a Certificate II or higher qualification and must have a training contract that has been formally approved by the state training authority.
