After a bumpy and uncertain start to 2020, the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship season will soon draw to a close. Although it wasn’t the 14-round season they had planned for, and a few rounds took place without any fans present, it was without a doubt still supercars entertainment at its finest.

2020 for Walkinshaw Andretti United nevertheless was shaping up to be an enthralling season with 2 new drivers coming on board.
After an indefinite suspension of the season back in March after completing only one round, it was uncertain if the season would even go ahead. Thankfully, the team was back on the track by late June with a revised calendar.
Although this did not come without further challenges. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria at the start of July, the team temporarily relocated assets of the race team and selected crew members to Sydney Motorsport Park, to ensure the continuation of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. The WAU team, along with several other teams, raced the clock to cross into New South Wales before borders were closed, to compete at the Truck Assist Sydney SuperSprint, and are still yet to return back to their home in Victoria.
This year also marked the 10-year anniversary of our partnership with WAU , and what a ride it has been! We were thrilled to see the 10-year window banner on display for the Truck Assist Sydney SuperSprint round.
Both Chaz and Bryce have delivered some amazing results across the season showcasing their skills and exciting their fans.
So far after 9 rounds, Chaz is currently sitting in 5th place overall with 1700 championship points, and Bryce in 18th position with 1092 points.
Chaz displayed his most impressive form on the streets of Townsville where he made it three out of four podium finishes. This combined with round 1 in Adelaide means 4 podium finishes for Chaz so far this season.

Bryce scored his maiden podium finish, with third place in Race 25 at The Bend. The rookie drove a superb race, one that will be reflected on for years to come.
He lit up the timing boards mid-race as the fastest car on the track and started making his way forward. Despite crossing the line in fourth, a 15-second penalty to McLaughlin promoted him on to the podium, an incredible achievement in his first season.
As the season comes to an end, the team is now off to the highly anticipated Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000 grand finale. Here’s hoping the team can finish off the year with some competitive racing and strong results.
