Jaxon Evans named an official Morris Finance Sports Ambassador
Morris Finance are thrilled to announce the signing of Porsche Carrera Cup and McElrea Racing’s young gun Jaxon Evans as an official Morris Finance Sports Ambassador.
A young rising star based on the Gold Coast in Queensland with Kiwi heritage Jaxon is keen to make his mark in the motorsport world, initially in Australia before expanding internationally through Asia and Europe.
Born in Levin, Palmerston North, New Zealand and growing up with his parents and two siblings, Jaxon’s lineage is all racer.
Racing runs in the family, Jaxon’s mum Debbie Lester, was one of the quickest female racers in New Zealand throughout the 1980s and '90s. Jaxon's grandfather, Robbie Lester is also a three-time national Formula Vee champion and one of the founders of the Manfeild race circuit in the Manawatu.
Like many aspiring race drivers, Jaxon started his racing career in Go Karts, competing in a number of categories including the Australian Rotax Pro tour and the ProKart New Zealand Series where he finished 2nd in KZ2 in 2014.
He was successful in a number of race wins and podium finishes over a five-year karting career before progressing into sports and touring car categories.
In 2014, Jaxon had his first test in a Porsche 997 GT3 cup car. He took this opportunity with both hands, leaving a lasting impression on the team and spectators.
The following year, Jaxon continued to elevate by finishing second in the Class B, Porsche Australia GT3 Cup Challenge Championship in 2015.
More recently, Jaxon impressed with a 3rd place finish ahead of a vastly more experienced competition on debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide this year.
“We are thrilled to have Jaxon join us as a Sports Ambassador and believe Jaxon will complement our other Sports Ambassadors, Katie Brennan, AFL Women’s, Nick Percat, V8 Supercars and Geelong Cats AFL forward Tom Hawkins in 2017”, “We have a number of Clients, Brokers, Investors and Suppliers in South East Queensland and will be able to work with Jaxon throughout these networks”, said Morris Finance Marketing and Promotions Manager Tiffany Hicks.
When Jaxon isn’t behind the wheel of a race car, he’s chasing the adrenalin rush he gets from ‘anything fast’. He enjoys jumping on the Jet Ski, getting out on the bike or heading to the gym to stay fit, healthy and happy.
Jaxon aspires to become the best version of himself by working hard towards his dreams of racing and living in Europe creating a career for himself in motorsport.
We are delighted to have Jaxon on board as an official Morris Finance Sports Ambassador and look forward to the exciting journey ahead which will allow us to continue to share the message of excellence, health and fitness.
